Ystaas Electrical Service, LLC was formed by two farm boys from Sheyenne, N.D., who are proud of their agricultural roots and want to provide an essential service in their home state. Now living and working in Dickinson, N.D., brothers Chad and Justin Ystaas can take an idea that was drafted on a napkin and develop it into a complex electrical solution. Partnering to combine their strengths and offer supervision and management at a high level, Chad and Justin strive to satisfy customers by creating a quality product at a competitive price.

Chad Ystaas -
Born and raised on a farm near Sheyenne, N.D., Chad graduated with an electrical degree from Northwest Technical College in East Grand Forks, Minn. He began his electrical apprenticeship and moved to northern Colorado to work in the electrical contracting industry. Chad enrolled in an accredited Bureau of Apprenticeship Training program, and after two years of apprenticeship, he earned journeyman electrician status and then a year later his master’s degree. After working in Colorado for 12 years, most recently as a project manager and superintendent, Chad wanted to move his career and family home to North Dakota. He relocated to Dickinson, N.D., and partnered with his brother, Justin, to start Ystaas Electrical Service (YES), LLC. With strengths in communication, accountability, reliability and safety, Chad is co-owner of YES, LLC with responsibilities in preconstruction and project management. After hours, he and his wife, Carli, and their two sons enjoy spending time as a family with their horses and team roping.
Justin Ystaas -
Born and raised on a farm near Sheyenne, N.D., Justin graduated with an electrical degree from the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D. He became an apprentice electrician and moved to northern Colorado to work in the electrical contracting industry. He earned his journeyman’s degree and worked for six years, most recently as a foreman. With an appreciation for extended family and the land, Justin moved back to North Dakota and started YES, LLC with his brother, Chad. With an intense work ethic and attention to detail, Justin is co-owner of YES, LLC and serves as superintendent of field operations. The daily “go-to” guy, Justin manages the employees and projects, while focusing on safety. Outside of work, Justin and his wife, Liza, adore their daughter and spend time with family. Justin also likes to golf and hunt.

Jerry Karsky, Foreman -
Job satisfaction means everything to Jerry Karsky. Forman at YES, LLC, Jerry has had a major part in getting some of our larger sites up and running near Dickinson, ND. Formerly a service technician in Sioux Falls, S.D., Jerry likes to have a plan and meet a goal at the end of the day,week, month and year. He appreciates the opportunity to work for an innovative company, and credits bosses Chad and Justin for being supportive and making his job and career satisfying. In the early 2000s, Jerry enrolled in the Electrical Technology Program at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., and later attended the certified Apprenticeship Training Program and recieved his Journeyman electrician license. Jerry and his wife, Alissa, have one daughter and enjoy spending time outdoors. Jerry also likes to golf and hunt pheasants.
Bobby Engle, Foreman -
North Dakota is bursting with economic development and growth, and Bobby Engle wants to be a part of the progress. A native of Rogers, N.D., Bobby earned a degree in refrigeration, air conditioning and electrical technology from the N.D. State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., and works as a foreman for YES, LLC. Inspired by his father, who owns an electrical contracting company, Bobby has worked in the electrical industry for 14 years, and likes the challenge and variety of jobs, and the people he meets. When he’s not working for YES, LLC, or helping with his dad’s business, Bobby and his wife, Shannon, stay busy watching their two sons grow. Bobby also takes advantage of North Dakota’s plentiful fishing and hunting opportunities.
Heather Fagerberg, Project Engineer -
Enticed by the opportunity to work for a cutting-edge electrical contractor with an appreciation for family, Heather Fagerberg joined the YES, LLC staff as project engineer and accountant. She handles all of the accounting functions and assists with daily operations and project controls including budgeting, scheduling and planning. With a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics and math from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Heather formerly worked as an accountant for one of northern Colorado’s leaders in development and investment. Now proud to call North Dakota home, she enjoys the diversity of projects at YES, LLC, and looks forward to helping the company grow. Heather and her husband, Tim, have two children who keep the couple busy with various sporting events. The family also enjoys spending time outdoors.
